Breakbulk News ("the App") is a mobile news reader application published by Breakbulk News & Media BV. It displays publicly available articles from the Breakbulk.News website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we handle.

Information We Collect

The App collects minimal data necessary for its operation:

• Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store a device token to send you alerts about new articles. This token does not personally identify you.
• Local Bookmarks: Articles you bookmark are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
• Theme Preferences: Your light/dark mode preference is stored locally on your device.

How We Use Information

We use the collected information solely for:

• Delivering push notifications about new articles (when enabled by you).
• Improving the app experience.

Third-Party Services

The App fetches articles from the Breakbulk.News website via its public WordPress REST API. When you open an article, a view signal may be sent to the Breakbulk.News website for analytics purposes, consistent with how the website itself tracks page views.

Push notifications are delivered through the Expo Push Notification service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. Push notification tokens are used exclusively for delivering notifications through our service.

Data Retention

Push notification tokens are retained as long as you have notifications enabled. You can remove your token at any time by disabling notifications in the app settings.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
